19th Century Country Town hotel perfectly located on the edge of The Northumberland National Park in the beautiful tranquil village of Rothbury - ideally situated as a walking, cycling or outdoor pursuit base - or simply to have a nice relaxing break.
We are also an ideal base for exploring North Northumberland with its many National Trust properties and places of interest.
Cragside is on our doorstep here in Rothbury, and Wallington Hall and gardens are a 20 minute drive away.
The delightful market town of Alnwick is just 25 minutes drive away, home to Alnwick Castle (used as the filming location for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies and is also the ancestral home of the Duke of Northumberland), the award winning Alnwick Gardens and Barter Books, one of the largest second hand book stores in the UK.
The heritage coastline is approximately a 30 minute drive away offering miles of unspoilt beaches and beautiful views.
The Coquetvale Hotel boasts a very popular award winning Italian restaurant with bags of character.

Restaurant Italia + is very popular with visitors and locals alike, therefore it is advisable to phone the Hotel ahead of your stay to reserve your table, particularly at weekends or during busy holiday periods.
ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT The hotel reception is situated on the ground floor and Restaurant Italia + is located on the second floor.
Access is via a stairway and from reception to the restaurant there is 19 stairs.
The first ten rooms which are our classic and superior rooms are situated on the second floor which is 40 stairs from the reception.
On the top floor of the hotel we have four loft rooms which are accessible by 59 stairs from the reception area.
The hotel has no lift facility due to its historic nature.
